Unauthorized Debits
Our client called on 14 April 2011, and complained that a certain company had been debiting her bank account over the last 6 months, without her knowledge or consent. She was furious that this could happen and demanded that we put it right. On 16 April 2011, our advisor sent out a letter demanding that the debits be stopped and that our client be refunded an amount of R6 498.45. Shortly thereafter, our advisor received an email with an apology and an assurance that the money would be refunded within a day, and a promise that all debits would be stopped. Our client was very satisfied and felt that she had defeated this large company.
